Orestis Nikolouzos

Business Performance & Analytics Team Head

"After a journey full of surprises, I belong to an employee-centric workplace."

From Greece to the Netherlands, and back to Greece.

My friends in the Netherlands teased me when they heard I joined NN, asking if I had left Greece only to work for a Dutch company. Life can be unpredictable. I studied Economics in Athens, then pursued a master's in Accounting & Control in Rotterdam. This experience exposed me to new cultures and collaborations. Unexpectedly, I received a job offer from MetLife Greece and spent over 8 years working in financial planning & analysis roles. However, I felt I was missing valuable experience in a local Business Unit.

A new adventure: driving data-driven decisions

After NN acquired MetLife in 2022, I joined the NN Controlling team to assist with management reporting integration and set-up until the merger. Currently, I lead the Business Performance & Analytics team in Financial Controlling & Reporting. Our team handles various internal and external reporting, including the Business Plan and Quarterly Business Review with NN Group. Our success relies on building productive relationships with key stakeholders through effective communication and support. Our end goal is to provide management with valuable information for decision-making.

A dynamic environment nurturing growth

I was immediately drawn to NN's commitment to employee development, offering a range of learning opportunities from IFRS17 tutorials to Power BI. As a #1 Insurance company in Greece, NN provides a dynamic and challenging environment. The recently launched 'Future Ready' program presents a unique opportunity to gain invaluable experience in translating strategy into actionable business plans, ensuring NN remains at the forefront of the industry. Here you will find countless challenges and opportunities.

People First: happy employees, successful business

Growth without happy employees is unrealistic, and NN understands this. They provide flexible working arrangements and other supportive initiatives to promote employee well-being, which is especially important for those with families. As a husband and father of a 2.5-year-old son, I am grateful for this. NN's supportive culture fosters a better and more productive work environment, allowing a work-life balance.
