''Living abroad gives me an opportunity to get to know the world and learning more about other cultures ‘’
My natural curiosity has always been strong. I got a bit of help from my father, who was an Electrical Engineer and used to bring home some small electric engines, wires and batteries so I could play with them. Around 2002, when I was 12, I got my first “website” running, because I was learning to code in HTML and imagined that I could help other kids with gaming tips.
Time passed, and I never actually stopped playing with computers. When I was 15, my best friends and I started a rock band, and although we were maybe not that good, our website certainly was!
When I turned 18, my first work experience was already coding. When you start as a technical person, you get attached to technologies, frameworks and other buzz words. It took me time to realize that my drive was none of those. What truly motivates me are the challenges and the feeling of overcoming them, and the opportunity to deliver something useful and new to customers.
How I landed in Czech Republic
I come from Novo Hamburgo, a southern Brazilian city that has been home throughout my whole life. In 2018, my wife and I decided that we were ready to live abroad. I started looking for opportunities, and at the same time, one amazing project was going on in the Czech Republic. I accepted the offer in early 2019 and arrived in Prague by summer, soon realizing how amazing that team and project were.
Fast-forward and I am now the CRM Lead in the Czech unit. With amazing people, we are trying to put together tools and processes for our Tied Agents, improving their lives and sales.
Work life balance & International life
The most important thing for me is the work-life balance at NN Czechia. I can help my team, deliver features to the Tied Agent network, and spend quality time with my family.
Living abroad has further opened my eyes to the world, giving me the opportunity to learn more about other cultures and get to know amazing people. One good example is that I have become a bit addicted to snowboarding and I cannot miss a winter without one (or several) trips to the Krkonoše mountains in the north of Czechia.
Also, I have recently started to work more closely with the NN Group teams and people from other countries units, which makes the mix even better.
